Shipping Policy
Our responsibility for shipments ceases when the carrier signs the Bill of Lading. Your receiving department must thoroughly inspect and count all shipments immediately upon arrival for lost or damaged goods. All shipments are reported in number of pieces (i.e. cartons, reels), never skids. Please ensure the count is correct upon receipt.
Short/Damaged Goods
If goods are received short or in damaged condition, it is important that you notify the carrier and insist on a notation of the loss or damage across the face of the freight bill, otherwise no claim can be enforced against the transportation company.
Concealed Loss/Damage
If concealed loss or damage is discovered, notify your carrier at once and request an
inspection. This is absolutely necessary. A concealed damage report must be made within15 days of delivery shipment. The carrier will deny any claims not reported within the stated time frame. The agent will make an inspection and grant a concealed damage notation. If you give the carrier a clear receipt for goods that have been damaged or lost in transit, you do so at your own risk and expense.
Claims
We are willing to assist you to collect claims for loss of damage, but this willingness on our part does not make us responsible for collection of claims or replacement of material. The actual filing and processing of claims is your responsibility.
